Bertram Baxter did a photographic survey of the tramway in 1928, shortly after it closed, and whilst many of the assets were still in situ. He enhanced this in later years, his final visit being in 1964, two years before he died. The images are now available in the Peak Forest Tramway album on the Online Archive. In later years, many traces of the tramway had disappeared, and all he could record was a line of the route crossing a farmer's field, the exact locations of many of these being currently unknown.
