Tees-side Trolleybus running "wrong road", probably at High Street, Eston
What should have happened is that, at the far end of the roadworks, the bus driver should have stopped and the conductor used the bamboo pole to transfer the booms to the wires on opposite side of the road. The bus could then run “wrong line” until just past the works, stop again, and transfer the booms back to the correct wires.
What appears to have actually happened is that the driver assumed his booms would continue to reach the usual wires but, as can be seen, the wire-pairs get further apart as they come over the hill and the booms were eventually unable to reach across the road and were de-wired. The conductor has rescued one boom but it actually looks as if the head has been pulled a foot or so out of the other boom, which he can barely reach. Pulling the boom down and round while sliding the bamboo pole along it in the restricted space will keep the cars behind waiting! The location is possibly in High Street, Eston, although the roadside buildings don't match. There is a slight hill on a bend at Grid ref. NZ 557188
