The Glasgow trolleybus system operated in and around the city between 1949 and 1967, with the network reaching its largest extent in 1959. It was the only British system to open after World War II. The abandonment of trolleybus services commenced in 1964, and complete closure followed on 27 May 1967.
One of the trolleybuses, a single-decker, Reg No FYS 996, Fleet No TBS 21, in preservation completed tours of Cardiff in September 1967 and Bournemouth in May 1968. It was eventually scrapped in late 2014/early 2015.
