Blenheim & Woodstock (WOZ @ 3m 57ch). 27 February 1954 (last day of service) (Ref: 094111)
GWR 1400 class 0-4-2T no 1420, with autocoach, at the platform on the 3:42pm train for Kidlington. However, Roger Taylor comments "In Richard Lingard's 1973 OPC publication 'The Woodstock Branch', and referring to the departure of the last train from Blenheim, he says 'An extra auto coach was provided'. From the timetable Richard Maund quotes, my conjecture would be that the second auto was provided on the 1448 from Oxford and stayed with No 1420 and the other auto for the rest of the day. I would therefore suggest that the captions for the third and fourth pictures, at Blenheim, are incorrect and that they are not the 1542 train to Kidlington, as there is only one auto; it seems unlikely that the second auto had previously been stabled at Blenheim or Kidlington just to add to the final working. I suspect those two shots are earlier in the day."
