Introduced in 1933 by the Southern Railway on the services between St Malo and the Channel Islands. The SS Brittany was built by Denny Bros. She had a speed of 16 knots and is of 1445 gross tons with accommodation for 850 passengers. Length 260', Breadth 39', Depth 16', hp 2500. Operated for the Royal Navy as HMS Brittany from 1940 to 1945.
